Blake Mitchell

Hello! My name is Blake Mitchell and I’m a sophomore from Louisville, Kentucky. I am studying Biology at Western Kentucky University with the hopes to pursue Optometry school.

I first heard about Bike4Alz my freshman year at Western Kentucky. I saw a group of guys at a table with a wheel to spin. I went over to the table, and they explained to me the ride and how the money went to Alzheimer’s research. I spun the wheel and received a wrist band. I wore the wristband every day and followed the team’s journey across the country that summer. The next semester I knew I had to apply to be on team 11 and I am blessed to be a part of this wonderful organization.

I am extremely excited for the opportunity this summer. I’m looking forward to hearing the stories from those affected along the way. I hope that as a team we can raise awareness for Alzheimer’s during the journey. I am riding for all those suffering from this disease in hopes of a cure.
