Tyler Kirby
My name is Tyler Kirby and I am from Alvaton, Kentucky. I am currently a sophomore at WKU pursuing a major in marketing. Alzheimer’s disease has personally affected my family, like many others, and I decided to drive to help the fight to end alz.
My grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 42. She battled the disease for the better half of 20 years. She was one of the most loving ladies I ever knew and always saw the best in people. Alzheimer’s disease took everything away from her and seeing her in the final stages is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to go through. She passed away in March of my freshman year of college. She always said I would do something great someday, but little did she know, she would be my inspiration to go on this ride. She is the reason I am driving for the 2019 ride and am joining the fight to put an end to Alzheimer’s disease.
This summer I am driving for my grandmother and for all of the people who have lost loved ones to Alzheimer’s disease. If you are reading this, please help join us in our fight to end Alzheimer’s disease. Look for Bike4alz in a city near you and please follow and join our cause.
