Erik Roepke
My name is Erik Roepke. I am a sophomore from Bowling Green, KY majoring in Chemistry. Go Tops!
As a sophomore in high school, my parents and I attended the Bowling Green Bike4Alz event to support a family friend. At first, it was hard for me to look past the pronounced tan lines and the craziness of riding a bicycle everyday for two months. However, as the riders spoke of the organization and their purpose for riding, I recognized how incredible Bike4Alz is. Standing there in Preston Center, I decided that I wanted to be a part of this organization when I came to college. Four years later, I am gearing up for that very trek across the country.
I ride for those whose precious memories are stolen from them. I ride for the family members who have experienced the tremendous heartache that accompanies the disease. I ride for those among us who have yet to be diagnosed with this debilitating sickness. I ride for those affected by Alzheimer’s Disease.
